Ronald R. Smith
Ronald R. Smith joined Albrechta & Coble, Ltd. in 2013, bringing some 40 years of diverse legal experience with him.
After receiving his J.D. from the John Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University in 1973, Smith joined the Erie County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Sandusky. Over the next 22 years he tried more than 100 jury trials as a felony prosecutor and also argued cases before the Ohio Supreme Court. His achievements in that office led to his being named Outstanding Assistant Prosecutor of the Year by the Ohio Prosecuting Attorneys Association in 1991.
After leaving the prosecutor’s office, Smith devoted his attention to the private practice that he had launched in Bellevue in 1980, focusing his work on civil matters. Drawing on his experience as a private investigator prior to law school and his experience as a former casualty claims supervisor for two nationally recognized insurance companies, Smith committed a significant portion of his practice to representing plaintiffs who had casualty-loss claims against insurance companies.
He has also developed a strong family law practice, handling divorces, custody disputes and paternity actions. In addition, Smith’s diverse practice includes estate work and contractual service.
Smith believes in meeting clients’ legal needs, whatever they may be. He strives to settle matters when the result is favorable for his clients but stands ready to go to trial when necessary.
