Divorce Attorneys Serving Fremont

Fremont is the county seat of Sandusky County with a population of 16,677. The city boasts a Presidential connection as the home of Rutherford B. Hayes, the 19th President of the United States. Hayes, who served from 1877 to 1881, resided at Spiegel Grove, which is open to visitors. The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center, first opened in 1916 in Fremont, was the first Presidential library in the United States. The Center includes the former Hayes estate at Spiegel Grove, a museum, and a library.

Fremont has a long and proud business history. Bearing the nickname “The Cutlery Capitol of the World”, it is the home to several cutlery companies, such as The Christy Company, Clauss Cutlery Co., Quikut, and B.A.P. Manufacturing. H.J. Heinz operates a ketchup plant in the city. Fremont was also the site of a Pioneer Sugar processing plant.

Fremont is home to Terra State Community College and Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technical Centers, which offer an impressive number of degrees and certificates ranging from nursing and office administration to manufacturing to music and recording degrees. In particular, Terra’s unique plastics certificate program offers classes in molding, machining, welding, and color matching. These types of programs help explain the large number of plastic and aluminum manufacturers located in Fremont and Sandusky County, including Century Die Co., Eaton Corporation, Corbi Plastics, Fremont Plastic Products Inc., First Choice Packaging Solutions, Berlekamp Plastics Inc., Custom Seal Inc, JH Plastics, and more.

Fremont’s historic downtown is adjacent to the Sandusky River on Front Street, populated by boutiques, gift shops, restaurants, and other attractions. The Sandusky River is well-known for the Spring runs of Walleye and White Bass, with anglers lining the banks of the river near downtown Fremont every Spring. The Sandusky County area is host to a Spring migration of song birds which is celebrated by the Biggest Week in American Birding. Our area is known by some as The Warbler Capital of the World. The migration reaches its peak each year in May when Northwest Ohio and Sandusky County are filled with hundreds of birds. Such migrations include endangered and rare species of warblers, shorebirds, hawks, eagles, and many more. These species stop for a break in our region before making their flight over the Great Lakes.

Racing fans flock to the Fremont Speedway, a semi-banked 1/3 mile clay oval course, located at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds. Racers have been competing at the Speedway since it first opened in 1951.

Our firm’s roots in the community run deep, as exemplified by attorney Joseph F. Albrechta who graduated from Fremont Ross High School in 1975, and whose father served as Fremont Municipal judge. Albrechta & Coble, Ltd. is proud to support local non profit organizations, including the Fremont Firefighters Association, the Christy Farm Nature Preserve, the Fremont Art and Music Society, the Fremont NAACP, Learning and Liberty Foundation, Sandusky County Junior Fair, Sandusky County Bar Association Law Day Committee, and other local youth sporting and educational opportunities. Our firm continues to be a gold level sponsor of Grove Fest, an annual event at the Hayes Presidential Center.
